Daily Deviation

Given 2011-08-12
So many people have suggested this to me over the months that I've lost track who actually came first. However this amazing piece deserves a Daily Deviation for its clever concept and message and I simply will say Suggested By Many

I love the intensity here. The play of light and shadow. The anger and the frustration is apparent. As I look at your work it reminds me of my frustration with my body. I think at times I want to grip my self in this manner. I don't think the impact would be as illustrative if this image was done in colour. The use of gray scale here was very appropriate in this instance. I also like the clarity and sharpness with a neutral gray background that will not take away from the subject. I rate this 5 stars all the way. :huggle:

This image creates such an impact on the viewer. The way the hands are positioned on the body in its gripping manner, like it is trying to pull the flesh off. I'm sure many can relate to this concept - the feeling one gets when they are unhappy with their body. The black and white tones go perfectly with this mood and the contrast between the background and the subject just makes it all the more intense. It would not have been more profound had the face been included. The face being cropped off just brings the viewer to focus on the main subject. This is a wonderful piece executed brilliantly, not to mention, really thought-provoking and emotion-stirring. Well done!

Be careful. I nearly died of it. Couldn't stand upp without passing out. Just a small thing as changing the channel with the remote control was to exhoustin(how ever you spell that). Could not watch tv only listen to it becaus I couldn't keep my eyes open in the light. Had to lay in complete darkness
