as the painter drew the last line of the boy’s neck, put his brush to his side and watched the oil drying on the canvas, he who had been sitting jumped off his chair. it was not an unfamiliar position to be in, and both had repeatedly found themselves right there, in the scenery of someone else’s imagination. and just as he always did, the boy looked at the painting and found himself staring. “what is it?”, asked the painter. “the understanding.” whispered him.
that was the day his soul was grasped. captured. and there was this pleasant and terrifying conviction in the room, in their hearts, that what they had found, that this would never fade away.
